Fox Theater on Market Street, c. 1935
The Fox, which opened in 1929, was one of the most magnificent motion picture theaters ever built. It featured the world’s largest organ, the Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Pipe Organ, and the enormous auditorium spanned 212-feet from screen to projectors. It closed in 1963 and was demolished to make way for the current complex and tower.
