The arrival of the Great White Fleet as the Bay Bridge construction moves ahead - This view over waterfront piers shows two of the four towers of the Bridge at different stages of construction. Building a bridge across the Bay had been a dream since the days of the Gold Rush. In 1933 construction of the Bridge finally commenced with completion only three years later.
